The U.S. Postal Service is bleeding financially, losing $9.5 billion in 2024 alone. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy partnered with the DOGE for cost-efficiency reforms. These include a workforce reduction and reconsidering a costly $10 billion electric vehicle purchase. Shifting to gas-powered vehicles could save nearly $1 billion annually. Cutting Saturday mail could save $2.6 billion annually. Such steps might help but won't solve the deep-seated inefficiencies and financial woes. Who knew delivering letters could be this complex?
